The Sr. Product Configurator Specialist will serve as an integral part of the product management team. This high visibility role requires an individual to develop and manage the product configurator tool for LED lighting and other products. They will also be responsible for maintaining the online tool, developing processes and management reporting.
Knowledge Acquisition: extract, gather, and accumulate product knowledge from the many scattered sources across the organization (people, processes, documents, computer data)
Knowledge Structuring and Documentation: formally structure the acquired knowledge using engineering documentation, tables, matrices, etc. so that it is in a clear and concise format that can be effectively evaluated, validated and developed into its logic for developing and maintaining the product model
Analysis and Validation: analyze and validate the documented information in the context of the entire organization, recognizing patterns and repetition
Identify the different entities and types of business rules/user interface table rules required to format the information into the structure required by the ERP system, re-using previously defined knowledge and adhering to previously established standards and vocabularies wherever possible
Generate, update and maintain the definitions and rules into the product configurator
Develop the user interface from the model structure to give end users access to customer requirements gathering & product selection for appropriate and valid configurations
Prototype, Test, Evaluate and Review: ensure that the systems consistently, accurately and efficiently achieves the expected results to guide users to appropriate and valid configurations.
Support the Technical Services, Customer Service and Order Entry functions as it relates to researching inquiries on product applications and service parts
Prepare monthly reports requested by supervisor and/or management
Responds and solves BOMs, routings, costing and/or model issues in a thorough and expedient manner, ensuring our customer needs and expectations are met
Work in close conjunction with the IT team to meet deadlines & customer expectations
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
Must have experience working in a Windows environment and have a high level of skill with Microsoft Office and Sharepoint applications
Must be open to new concepts, ideas and embrace continuous change and demonstrate the ability to self-teach
Self-motivated with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete multiple tasks within specified timeframes
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical ability, detailed orientated, and logical
Ability to travel up to 5%
Based in Rosemont Office
Previous product configurator experience, especially Oracle CPQ
Strong collaboration skills: Excellent people skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, customers and third parties.
Strong project management skills
