Job Summary:
The Office 365 Technical Lead is the technical architect and technical leader with extensive knowledge of Office 365 architecture, configuration, and functionality. The Technical Lead provides expert guidance on the architecture, configuration, integration, and support of Office 365 and demonstrates expertise in Office 365 governance and tenant change management and is a key member of the Office 365 Operational Governance team. Responsibilities include technical management and support of the Office 365 tenant, identifying the impact of changes to Office 365, and leading technical projects involving Office 365. This may include collecting, analyzing, and developing requirements, working with technical and business resources. The Office 365 Technical Lead partners with the Office 365 Service Owner, Service Delivery Manager, and Global Administrators to configure, manage, and support Office 365 in alignment with the company's objectives. The Technical Lead also works with and provides direction to the owners and technical leads for the capabilities within Office 365. Critical thinking and exceptional problem solving skills are a must.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following)
* Serves as the organization's technical expert in Office 365 and related technologies
* Maintains a deep technical understanding of all aspects of the organization's Office 365 implementation
* Includes 3rd party or Microsoft tools used in conjunction with Office 365
* Participates in the ongoing development of Office 365 strategy
* Evaluates Office 365 changes & updates and reports on impact to the organization's use of Office 365
* Leads technical projects related to Office 365
* Collaborates with and provides direction to Office 365 capability service owners and technical leads
* Participates in troubleshooting and problem resolution
* Identifies and documents Office 365 standards and tools and support processes
* Identifies and monitors key performance metrics
* Participates as a key member of the Operational Governance team
* Maintains awareness of Office 365 roadmap and releases
* Maintains an awareness of Office 365 third-party solutions
Required Experience
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science of equivalent field of study
* 7+ years of IT or consulting work experience is preferred
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with Office 365 or Microsoft SharePoint or Exchange
* 2+ years of architecture and experience implementing Office 365
* Demonstrated experience in architectural design, development, migration, management and support of Office 365 implementations
* In depth understanding of the capabilities of Office 365
* Proven experience with Microsoft Active Directory services including forest and domain design, policies, trusts, replication and topology
* Proven experience with Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) design, topology, and integration with various products
* Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Exchange services, design and topology
* Demonstrated experience with Office 365 security single sign-on and multi-factor authentication
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Able to work independently with minimal direction
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to manage multiple activities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security is preferred
* Proven experience with Skype of Business (including voice) services, design and topology is desired but not required
* Proven experience with design of solutions to integrate and support of telephony systems, both PABX and VOIP (and hybrids) is desired but not required
* MCSA certification in Microsoft Office 365 certification is desired
