Section Manager (Mgr II) Systems Engineering (CD97/G10) or Section Manager (Mgr III) Systems Engineering (CD98/G11) Job Description: The System Validation, Test & Analysis Directorate (SVTAD) organization integrates all aspects of system validation, test, and analysis from initial system architecture, design and development, through system validation. The SVTAD Directorate has overall responsibility for the system integration and test process, test facility management and capital planning, as well as off-site system and flight test conduct, analysis and test problem resolution Opportunities currently exist within SVTAD's Air Defense Systems Department in Andover, Massachusetts. The Air Defense Systems Department (ADS) provides expertise in the integration, validation, and sell off for various air defense programs within IDS. ADS Engineers are involved in all aspects of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) cycle. ADS engineers have ownership authority to ensure that individual items are integrated and perform as expected as well as ensuring that the system can be sold off. Most system tests will be conducted in the ADS Departments HWIL facilities. These facilities include integrated tactical hardware, simulated, and emulated software for data collection to verify the systems capabilities and support the ultimate sell off of the System. ADS supports the PATRIOT and NASAMS family of programs. Join this highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments which will contribute to protecting our nation, allies, and our warfighters. The Section Manager will be a member of the ADS leadership team, and the frontline leader will be responsible for the section of approximately 25 members. The manager will perform management and/or technical tasking on the Patriot, GBADS or NASAMS programs. Responsibilities include: Frontline Leader (FLL) will oversee, supervise and lead a team of approximately 25 members Frontline Leader (FLL) will conduct Performance Development process actions to include goals and accomplishments, interim and year end performance reviews and discussions with employees Communicate with open and honest feedback to section members, perform formal and informal reviews with each member, and help establish meaningful and measureable goals with the team that are aligned to the Raytheon IDS Goals Collaborate and interact with Program Managers, CPT and IPT Leads, other Section Managers, and the Department Manager to achieve business objectives Participate in hiring and onboarding new team members Provide program status, execute corrective actions, and assist the Department Manager in all areas related to program/proposal staffing, cost proposal preparation and approval, personnel development and growth, direction of IDS initiatives, and controlling overhead expenses. Lead by example and reinforce to the team Raytheons Vision, Strategy, Goals and Values Drive alignment, motivation and collaboration within multifaceted and self-directed teams Prepare presentations, written communications and facilitate meetings This position could be a Salary Grade G10 or Salary Grade G11 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the knowledge, skills, and experience in this requisition. Required Skills: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior or lead engineering role Experience on a DoD or Air and Missile Defense program in software/systems integration, test planning and execution, or verification and validation Experience in a Project/Task Lead, IPT or CPT Lead Current DoD Secret security clearance Desired Skills: Experience with air and missile defense systems business and program improvements through process improvement methodologies Experience with Raytheons proposal capture process (development of compliant Basis of Estimates, and White Sheet Development) EVMS Certified and professional exposure to EVMS or similar budget tracking system Effective leadership and influential skills, interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication, team building skills, and multitasking Familiarity with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process Familiarity with the Engineering Labor Forecasting (ELF) System Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Applied Physics or other related discipline 101348 Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
