Job Description

To further provide detail of the requirements for the AS/400 programmer this position requires the following:Responsible for designing and programming within AS400 based systemsCreation of system design and functional specifications for new development projectsDevelopment and maintenance of technical documentation, both within the code and within technical design documents, to enable future analysis and developmentDefine testing and analysis processes for all program modificationsFollow client Change Management procedures obtaining all required approvals before promoting changes to productionTroubleshoot issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirementsWork with business function owners to create state of the art solutions and solve organizational problemsThe highly automated multiple-shift production environment at client requires that all programmers be available after normal working hours to address program or systems emergencies.Experience in RPGLE language within AS400 programmingExperience in a production, manufacturing, distribution or service environmentSelf-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing prioritiesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentStrong Project Management SkillsCritical Thinking & Problem Solving SkillsExcellent Communication SkillsTrue problem solver that possesses high initiativeMust be able to work across functional lines and with all levels in organizationChange Management experience a plusEagerness to stay current in field and identify new technologies and methodologies - provided by Dice
