About the position:

The Program Manager is responsible for developing a cohesive strategy and managing the overall performance of a specific program. Specifically, the responsibilities of the Program Manager will include achieving program targets within budget, as well as the coordination of services, program offerings, and key performance indicators. Program Managers oversee multiple projects in parallel and multi-task between tactical project execution and strategic delivery efficiency. The Program Manager will be proactive in tracking the success of the program and reporting results to leadership.

Job responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing a cohesive program strategy
  • Facilitate and engage stakeholders with diverse perspectives to increase effectiveness and impact of partnership programs
  • Forecast and track program metrics, regular reporting of program results to leadership
  • Proactively assess and recommend solutions for assigned programs
  • Complete reviews of program applications to ensure adherence to program rules and requirements
  • Develop KPIs to ensure accurate program results and delivery quality
  • Coordinate with program evaluators to understand evaluation plans and communicate program procedures to staff
  • Manage direct reports and oversee program staff. This includes interviewing, planning, assigning, completing performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring and directing work
  • Manage multi-million budget to ensure full utilization of funds while meeting or exceeding program goals
  • Lead and attend relevant presentations and meetings related to the program
  • Able to influence large organizations and senior stakeholders
  • Relies and creates sustainable systems and tools to provide objective data and status
Job Dimensions:
  • Lead development and implementation of programs
  • Manage multiple project teams and report program results
  • Manage and communicate risks relevant to the program, on an ongoing basis
Main Interfaces:
  • Collaborate with program evaluators
  • Report program statuses and results to functional leadership
Knowledge, Experience & Technical Know How:

  • 10-15 years of project management experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management including leading process improvements, managing complex technology projects in utilities or other regulated industries
  • Experience in project management office operations gained through education, experience or skill certification.
  • Experience overseeing the execution of projects to ensure goals and objectives are met within established milestones.
  • Experience with Change Management processes
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Management, Business, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree (preferred)
Knowledge & Technical Know-how:

  • Proven experience with juggling and prioritizing a broad range of projects
  • Knowledge of relevant industry practices, trends, and legislation
  • Proficiency in financial management
  • Proficient in tracking systems/databases
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, work with mathematical concepts
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), analytical, organizational, interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Proven technical knowledge in utilities and/or regulated industries is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred
  • Scrum or agile certification desired (Scrum Master, etc)
  • Ability to work within a time bounded environments to meet response SLA and OLA
